Privacy Policy

If you browse without signing in: Favorites, visited places, collections, theme, language, and similar settings stay on your device. If you allow location, we use it on the device to show nearby POPOS and your position on the map. We do not store a GPS history on our servers. The app needs the internet for maps, photos, live place updates, and Google Places rating snippets.

If you create an account (optional — email, Sign in with Apple, or Google): We store in Firebase (Google Cloud) your account identifiers (user ID, email), display name if you provide one, profile photo if you add one, and your favorites, visited places, and collections so they can sync across your devices. You can delete your account in the app.

If you report a problem with a place: We store the POPOS you flagged, the issue types you selected, any notes you type, device info (platform, OS, app version, device model), and — if you are signed in — your user ID and email so we can follow up.

If you send feedback or exit/deletion feedback: We may store the reasons, ratings, features you mention, optional contact email, and user ID if you are signed in. Some FAQ links also open Google Forms; those submissions are processed by Google under Google's terms.

Technical / analytics: The app includes Firebase Analytics. Google may receive standard app-usage and device information. We do not use an ads SDK. We do not currently ship Firebase Crashlytics.

Location (when in use): used for nearest POPOS and the map. Not required to browse the catalog. Opening directions hands the POPOS address/coordinates to Apple Maps or Google Maps (your choice).

Camera / photos: only for an optional profile picture (and, for the developer, uploading official POPOS photos).

Notifications: local reminders. We register for Apple push tokens on iOS but do not run a marketing-push backend.

We use Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Analytics; Apple — Sign in with Apple, MapKit, App Store; Google Maps / Google Play services (Android map) and Google Places (rating/review snippets shown in the app); and Google Forms if you use the public feedback/bug/feature links. Those companies process data under their own policies when you use their sign-in, maps, or forms.

Sell personal data; run ads or advertising SDKs; share data with data brokers; require an account to look up POPOS; host a public social feed or in-app user reviews of your own writing.

SF POPOS is a general-audience city guide. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Deny location, camera, or notification permission in system settings; stay signed out (favorites stay on-device only); delete your account in the app; or email support@snowstudios.app to ask what we hold or to request deletion.

Place facts are based on public information, including data associated with the San Francisco Planning Department, curated and updated in the app. Hours, access, and amenities can change; confirm on site.
